New Principal named for Washington Wilkes Middle School

The Wilkes County School System is thrilled to announce Mrs. Arstasia Evans on her appointment as the Washington Wilkes Middle School Principal starting with the 2024-2025  school year. Mrs. Evans comes to Wilkes County Schools with extensive experience in education and leadership. She has served the past five years as an assistant principal for Richmond County Schools. She has a proven track record of building school culture, increasing achievement in reading and writing, and working with Comprehensive Support and Improvement Schools. We believe that Mrs. Evans will bring fresh perspectives, energy, and a wealth of knowledge that will contribute to the continued success and growth of Washington Wilkes Middle School.

 Arstasia Evans is a native of Washington, Georgia, and a 2002 Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School graduate. Mrs. Evans has over 16 years of experience as an educator and has served as a middle school English language arts teacher, instructional specialist, and school administrator.
