WWES was recognized for its outstanding growth in the percentage of students scoring at the Proficient Learner Level or above in mathematics. Wilkes County Schools will have a virtual learning day on Friday, March 7, as we rally behind our Lady Tigers Basketball Team in the state championship game. Students should log into Google Classroom to access their assignments. Teachers will communicate with parents and students via Rooms. The game will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Macon Coliseum in Macon, and we want to give our students, staff, and community the opportunity to show their support. Save the Date - March 3, 2025 at 8:00 am Wilkes County Schools will open online registration applications for Pre-K students for the 2025-2026 school year on Monday, March 3, 2025. Our Pre-K program has a limited number of spots available, so we highly encourage you to begin the online registration process on March 3, 2025. Any child residing in Wilkes County who will be four years old on or before September 1, 2025, is eligible to attend the Pre-K program. How to enroll in Wilkes County Pre-K Program: All students entering Pre-K must complete the online registration application to begin the registration process. After submitting the online registration application, you will receive further instructions regarding additional paperwork needed to complete the registration.

PLEASE NOTE: Your child will not be officially enrolled in the Pre-K program at Washington-Wilkes Elementary School until all required documentation is submitted to the registrar. The following documents are required for each student: 1. Georgia Immunization Certificate from your family doctor, pediatrician, or the Health Department (Form 3231) 2. Georgia Certificate of Vision, Hearing, Dental, and Nutritional Screening (New Form #3300) can be obtained from the Health Department 3. Student’s Certified Birth Certificate 4. Student’s Social Security Card 5. Proof of Residency (must have parent/guardian’s name and address) – acceptable documents include Rental/lease agreement, Utility (Water or Electric) - must be within the last 30 days, Property Tax documents, or Voter registration The Wilkes County Health Department will be administering immunizations and screening students for the Certificate of Vision, Hearing, Dental and Nutritional Screening Certificate Form #3300. Please call the Wilkes County Health Department at 706-678-2622 for appointments. Cost for these certificates and the screenings will be on a sliding scale with the cost to the parents depending on family size and parent income. Students who have qualified for Medicaid or Peachcare qualify to have their shots administered at the Health Department; others will need to see their private physician for GA. Each year, schools across Georgia collect survey data from families to better understand their experiences. This survey allows parents and guardians to share their thoughts about our schools, helping us identify strengths and areas for improvement. We kindly ask every parent or guardian to complete a survey for each school their child(ren) attends this year.
