Wilkes County Schools is committed to providing a safe and family-friendly environment at all athletic events. To help maintain that atmosphere, please note that students in 8th grade or below will not be allowed to enter the game without a parent or adult. Students who are dropped off without a parent will be required to call their parent to pick them up.
Students are also expected to remain seated and watch the game. No roaming or loitering will be permitted. As a reminder, per our student handbooks, students may face school consequences for inappropriate behavior at any school-sponsored event.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our events safe, positive, and enjoyable for everyone.

Washington-Wilkes Elementary School conducted our required intruder drill this morning in compliance with Georgia law. We are proud of how well our students responded and followed procedures. The drill was carried out smoothly and provided us with another opportunity to practice our safety measures.
Student and staff safety remains our highest priority. These drills are an important part of being prepared, and we encourage you to talk with your child about the importance of practicing so that we are all ready in the event of an emergency.
We have enjoyed a wonderful first month of school! Wilkes County Schools will be closed on Monday, September 1, for Labor Day. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday!
