The W-WCHS Allied Health class has officially completed their clinical rotations! Our students had an incredible opportunity to learn, observe, and grow in real healthcare settings. We extend a heartfelt thank you to Wills Memorial Hospital, Wilkes County EMS, Community Medical, Pulmonary Rehab, and MedNow for welcoming our students and allowing them to shadow your dedicated professionals. Your support and guidance play a vital role in shaping the future of healthcare. Now that clinicals are complete, the next step for our students is to take the NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician exam. We are excited to see them continue their journey toward becoming healthcare professionals!

Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School has been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as a 2024–2025 Literacy Leader, an honor awarded to schools demonstrating exceptional achievement in reading and literacy. WWCHS is one of only 406 schools statewide to receive this recognition.
At the high school level, the Literacy Leader for Growth designation is based on student improvement on the Georgia Milestones American Literature and Composition End-of-Course assessment. The award recognizes schools where students have demonstrated measurable growth in literacy, as measured by the state’s Reading Status indicator and corresponding Lexile levels.
Congratulations to our teachers, students, and administrators for their commitment to academic excellence. This recognition reflects their dedication, hard work, and shared belief in continuous improvement for all learners.
