Milestones Testing GADOE logo

GA DOE announces a refreshed Experience Online Testing Georgia website is now available with a demonstration test for each of three grade bands – grades 3-5, grades 6-8, and high school – with sample items from each content area.  While the 3-5 and 6-8 grade bands will contain Science and Social Studies items, please be reminded that these two content areas will be assessed in grades 5 and 8 only.  The primary purpose of this website is to provide exposure to the online platform that students will utilize when taking the Georgia Milestones tests.

The Wilkes County School System will conduct an on-site review and revision of the FY 17 Consolidated Application on Wednesday, July 27, from 9:00 until 4:00.  All parents with students in grades K-8 are invited to come by and review and give input to the Comprehensive LEA Improvement Plan Descriptors.

The Wilkes County Board of Education is seeking specific qualifications from interested Energy Service Companies (ESC) that are capable of providing comprehensive infrastructure upgrades for the purpose of entering into a Guaranteed Energy Services Contract pursuant to O.C.G.A. 20-2-506 for facility upgrades through all Schools of Wilkes County School District.

Title I Meeting

All parents are invited to attend the annual Title I Schoolwide Stakeholder meeting on Wednesday March 30, at 3:30 p.m. at the Board of Education office on North Alexander Avenue.


Congratulations to the WW Tiger Band!  Last night they performed at the McDuffie County Band Festival in Thomson.  The band received the highest ratings possible, across the board!  Straight Superiors!  Next week they travel to Burke County for the state concert festival.  Concert festival is the most important performance of the year for the band.  The students get to experience a whole new realm of music performance during the preparation. Way to go Tiger Band!

House Bill 91

On Monday, March 30, 2015, Governor Nathan Deal signed into law a bill permitting former high school students who completed all coursework but failed to pass one or more portions of the Georgia High School Graduation Tests, the Georgia High School Writing Test or their predecessors to request a high school diploma.


Georgia Milestones testing for 3rd through 8th grades begins on Wednesday, April 20!

Early Release & Inservice Day

Wilkes County Schools will release students at 12:00 on Friday, October 7.  Students will have a holiday on Monday, October 10.
