Washington-Wilkes Middle School
Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education
At the middle school level, students have the opportunity to develop fundamental skills related to business, finance, information technology, and agriculture. As eighth graders, students may enroll in business and/or agriculture courses for high school credit. Eighth graders interested in Business may take the Introduction to Business and Technology course and those interested in Agriculture may take Introduction to Basic Agriculture course. These courses are prerequisites for several high school-level career pathways in business and agriculture. At W-WCHS, students interested in learning about mechanics, agricultural/residential wiring, and welding, are enrolled in the Agriculture program because the career pathways for those fields are under the Agriculture program umbrella.
